Breckterfield, who attended Oregon State and starred on the Beavers' defensive line from 1995-99, has reportedly accepted the open defensive line coaching gig at Utah.

Nnodim is also the fourth defensive line pickup for Malloe. Penn State gained the commitment of former UCLA starter Keanu Williams late Monday and former Iowa State D-tackle Alijah Carnell on Sunday. Nnodim, a redshirt sophomore next season, stands 6-2 and 290 pounds.

Ten candidates came to mind immediately. They included Brian Flores and Jesse Minter. ESPN's Mina Kimes seemed to agree with those two suggestions on SportsCenter. Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter was also part of that discussion. He added another name to the mic, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.

D'Anton Lynn, Penn State's new defensive coordinator, is bringing a familar coach with him to State College. Ikaika Malloe, who replaced Lynn as UCLA's defensive coordinator in 2024, is joining Penn State's staff as defensive line coach and run-game coordinator.
