North Carolina is preparing for another significant winter storm from Friday night, Jan. 30, through the weekend.

Another arctic blast and possible blizzard conditions are possible.

"Continuing to monitor latest developments regarding a significant coastal storm which could affect Southern New England Sunday," the weather service said in its forecast discussion. "There is a growing potential for accumulating snow and gusty winds for Cape Cod, the Islands and perhaps further westward into South Shore and the I-95 corridor."

Charlotte is expected to get anywhere from 4 to 7 inches of snow this weekend, and there’s a slim chance it could be higher, according to the National Weather Service. A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 4 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Sunday, and North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein has declared a State of Emergency.
