NATIONAL SPELLING BEE SPEED OR LIGHTNING ROUND When the 2023 National Spelling Bee Final competition at Grand Palace Hotel reached its concluding or championship minutes; the contest format changed from the normal one-word round to Speed Round to declare a winner. Each speller remaining in the competition was given 60 seconds to spell as many words as they could. The speller who spelled the most words correctly was declared champion. National Spelling Bee helps to promote literacy, aid children
