WHO REMEMBERS THE CASTAWAYS? One of the most popular South Florida nightclubs in the 1970’s was the Wreck Bar at the Castaways Motel in Sunny Isles. Wayne Cochran & the Kingsmen, KC & The Sunshine Band, The Monkees & others kept the place filled to capacity when they appeared there. Declining business forced it to close in 1982.
