Now it’s time to load the quilt top! Yep—I do pin my quilt tops to the leaders. I prefer not to float my quilts. For this one, the blocks are the most time-consuming part, and since they’re rectangular and oriented vertically, I’ve decided to load the quilt top sideways onto the longarm. Why? So I can fit an entire block into my throat space and quilt it all in one go. It might not technically save time, but for me, there’s something mentally satisfying about finishing a whole block before movin

Quilt Top Borders
This is the first quilt top to be quilted for Christmas in 2026. Actually, it’s mine. I put the borders on this beautiful panel and I am currently having Ivy the Innova doing the, “Holly simple panel“.  This is a top, I’ve been working on the last few days, including Christmas and I look forward to putting the binding on it. I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. There is only 364 days until next Christmas so it’s time to start working on those Christmas tops for next year for me

18 months later…. I finally found this four block cottage tulip quilt top… packed in a box with random stuff packed by movers… I thought I was losing my mind-that I couldn’t remember where it was. I knew the last time I had it…. It was driving me up the wall as I had gone through all of my sewing boxes. It was not in a sewing box. - Now, do I just put the borders on it and make it a lap quilt (I’m not sure I’m actually capable of making just a lap quilt-iykyk) or do I finally finish it? - I actu
