1965 | Mario Andretti Mario Andretti qualified 4th and finished 3rd in his first Indy 500. He was named Rookie of the Year and also won the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship, his first of four 🏆🏆🏆🏆 (1965, 1966, 1969, 1984). The Clint Brawner designed “Brawner Hawk” with a four-cam Ford R V8 was the only of its chassis in the field.
