The death has taken place of Josef ‘Joe’ Veselsky, a Holocaust survivor born in the former Czechoslovakia who became Ireland’s oldest man. He was 107. Born in 1918, Joe Veselsky witnessed at first-hand the rise of the German Reich. His parents and elder brother were killed in Auschwitz.
