Oklahoma's house passed a crappy "right of first refusal" bill that essentially grants a monopoly to utility companies in the state. Not only is that just plane old corrupt cronyism, handing out sweetheart deals with taxpayer money and picking winners and losers in the market - it also means taxpayers can then be held hostage by these companies and whatever rates they choose to charge on the energy lines they're building. The company gets a payout. The politicians get kickbacks. You get screwed.
