The Magnificat, or Mary's Song, is probably the most important canticle (songs from the Bible outside of the Psalms), and is a key part of the vespers or evensong services. The English composer Herbert Howells wrote many settings of this text for various schools and cathedrals. This is one of his most popular- the Collegium Regale set written for King's College, Cambridge in 1945.
