Virtual tour day 24: The Romanesque Frieze by Joy Heath The Romanesque Frieze dates from the 12th century and was carved directly onto the West Front of the Cathedral. Originally painted in bright colours of red, blue, green and yellow, the carvings would have served as a vivid reminder for repentance to medieval pilgrims.
